You don’t need a title to be a leader. You lead by example.

Coaching women toward their leadership goals.

At HJC we have been dedicated to working with women and girls toward leadership development since our inception in 2008.

Our mission at HJC has always been to affect change in our community using the skills and knowledge which can be gained through working with horses and over the 13 years HJC has been serving our community, those skills and that knowledge has grown exponentially - thanks to our clients and a continued commitment to learning.

Starting as young as 8 years old girls’ confidence in self begins to drop.

A simple definition of confidence is: the ability to turn thought into action.

If women are losing confidence in self as young as eight years old - imagine how much society loses with them. How many inventions, ideas, revelations are lost along the way?

This sets women in general at a disadvantage. Starting a leadership race with hurdles in our lane where other contenders find none.

At HJC we believe in order to lead the movements required to enact the changes which reflect the needs of our diverse population, more women need to turn their thoughts into actions. Having confidence in ourselves and our abilities and refusing to allow our young women to lose their confidence before the race has even been run - is our leadership mission for women and girls at HJC.

HJC’s new design and programming honours the women and girls we’ve worked with from the very beginning; what they’ve shared with us over the years, what we’ve learned from one another, while looking toward creating greater impact with our work. I believe wholeheartedly in order to truly affect positive change in our Prince Edward Island community (and beyond) - we need women and girls organizing and leading the change.

Working with Ellen and the HJC herd, individually or as a part of a group event, will show participants their potential to make an impact, challenging their perceptions of leadership potential - unlocking their own personal power to turn their amazing thoughts into even better actions. Combined with the supportive and collaborative environment HJC is renowned for, our programs are built upon a solid foundation of values derived from horsemanship we call: Equine Informed Coaching.

A simple definition of power is “influence potential”. If you want to influence the world in a positive way - as almost all of the women we have worked with want to do - you have to have power.
