What is Coaching?

Coaching is a powerful relationship which can support people who are in transition take suitable steps to: advance their position, clarify goals, strengths, values and begin to work toward progress in both the personal and professional arenas.

Suitable candidates should be open and ready for change. Coaches don’t solve problems, we help bring forward your individual strengths and offer support while you apply them to your specific situation. You are the hero of your own story and we are here to believe in and challenge you to write the story you want to live.

“The whole aim of coaching is to close the gap between people’s potential and their current state.”
— Jenny Rogers, Coaching Skills 2004

What is Coaching at HJC?

Coaching at HJC is designed to take you out of your normal environment and welcome you into something new - our purpose built facility in Nine Mile Creek. Private, rural and set overlooking the horse paddocks and the Northumberland Strait we believe (and our clients agree) that the environment we provide inspires deeper thought and greater insight.

When you arrive for an appointment at HJC expect to be welcomed into our facility with a warm beverage before we sit down and get to work.

Our onsite 1:1 coaching conversations are scheduled for 90 minutes. Phone\video calls are an option for people who find transportation challenging.

“soft” Skills Development

We all know that soft skills are the hard skills! Technical skills are important in the work space but research is showing that so called “soft” skills (such as; emotional intelligence, leadership, communication, trust building etc.) are becoming the key to employee and business success. They are also the most intangible and challenging skills to “teach”.

HJC’s skill development programs are experience driven, designed to increase self-awareness and build on your personal strengths by engaging in horsemanship activities.

Special workshops onsite with the HJC horses offer a great tool for your organization to gain the soft skills you need to get results.

HJC will work with you to create private bespoke programs for your team or you can discover our public programs by clicking the link below.

Equine Informed Coaching

At HJC we offer you an opportunity for an experience with horses which can inform our coaching dialogue.

With 30 years of equine experience across 6 continents and coaching certification from Cambridge University - Ellen will guide you through your time with the horses with both safety and personal insight at the forefront of your session. You will learn real horsemanship skills on the ground with the herd while gaining a better understanding of your own leadership styles.

After working with the horses, enjoy the HJC debrief space while you discuss what transpired, what was learned, strengths, and areas for improvement moving forward.
