Building Healthy Relationships - a workshop for young women (13-16)

  • The Hughes-Jones Centre 775 Highland Park Road Nine Mile Creek, PE, C0A 1H2 Canada (map)

We are putting relationship building skills under the microscope in this workshop, inviting a group of teenage girls to look at the quality of relationships they require and how to achieve them as they navigate their high school\junior high school years.

This workshop has two components. The first explores your current approach to building relationships, by engaging with a living metaphor: the horse. Participants will be guided on a journey learning what they look for in different kinds of relationships and develop a personal strategy to move forward, through learning horsemanship principles.

All participants will have the opportunity to engage with and learn from Ellen and the HJC herd.

The second component will take place in the HJC indoor facility with a warm drink in hand! Participants will take a facilitated deeper dive into the experience they had with the horses and use what they learned to develop strategies which they can implement in their lives.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Identify where trust and respect play pivotal roles in your relationships.

  • Build self-awareness regarding your relationship building tendencies.

  • Examine your approach to relationship building.
