PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT: Re-Connecting Work Teams and the Return to Face to Face Interactions at HJC

JC Photos PEI image 2019

At HJC one of our core beliefs is that environment builds behaviour.

In our current pandemic state the environment we are living and working in feels changeable, chaotic and often frightening. As a result people are dealing with increased anxiety, loss of trust in each other and acting\speaking in fear over reason. As the return to office work begins, the challenges facing teams due to our current environment are great.

HJC offers you and your work team a different environment which aims to help you reconnect with each other, address your anxieties and build new trust as a team navigating the uncertain journey ahead.

Programs are 3.5 hours in length and will take place on site at the brand new architecturally designed HJC facility overlooking the rolling hills of Nine Mile Creek and the Northumberland straight. Visit our facility page to view our special space.

Program break down:

  • Arrive - meet and greet in the main facility.

  • Set expectations for the equine session learn about Ellen’s approach to working with people and horses.

  • Organize and head over to the equine space for a guided experience with Ellen and the HJC herd.

Communication in the time of Covid-19 OPEN FOR BOOKINGS As of May 8th

It’s familiar to everyone that this pandemic is changing the way we function in our day to day lives. Including how we communicate.

As PEI moves to reopen some smaller businesses we will be interacting more and more while wearing masks and maintaining physical distancing - limiting our ability to read facial cues and expressions, as well as our ability to express ourselves with our co-workers or clientele.

HJC invites you to participate in our “Communication in the time of Covid-19” sessions to explore some of the communication challenges we will be facing in the coming months and practice skills with the herd which can help you be more effective in reading, receiving and delivering non-verbal cues.

Horses are masters of non-verbal communication and working with them is an excellent gauge of your own effectiveness. Ellen will guide you through your interaction with the herd raising your awareness of your impact on those around you and increasing your fluency in body language.

Individual sessions can be booked as of May 8th. Pandemic Pricing: $50 + HST per 90 minute session.

Small group sessions (for management teams etc) can be booked starting May 22nd. Maximum of 4 participants at this time. Pandemic Pricing: $40 + HST per person - session length 2.5 hours.

PROGRAM: Connecting with horses during Covid-19

JC Photos PEI image 2019

The isolation physical distancing requires can be mentally exhausting and incredibly stressful.

HJC invites you to hour long individual sessions interacting and learning about horsemanship (as comfort and experience level and physical distancing practices permit) in beautiful Nine Mile Creek.

There is something special working with horses when the world around us feels so uncertain and unsettled - they require us to step into their environment and when you stay present with them - it allows you to connect while taking a break from the world outside. Here we call that the “HJC bubble” and I’m excited to be able to share that with you.

  • $40 per session

  • Coupon codes available for health care workers, small business owners, essential workers and teenagers who are struggling.

  • Programs will change based on the current “phase” we are in.

  • All programs will focus on ground based work. (No riding)

Sisters in Solopreneurship

JC Photos PEI image 2019

UPDATE: Obviously things have changed exponentially since I first thought of this idea but now that we are able to meet inside in small groups I'm wondering if there is a small group of women who would like to meet and discuss our new solopreneurship reality, challenges and begin to think about the future.

This group might just be needed now more than ever.

Book for free, online by clicking the “BOOK NOW” button below..

I'm curious to see if there are a group of female solopreneurs\solo-nonprofiteers out there who would like to meet regularly to connect, discuss successes\failures\struggles and get inspired and support each other to either start or continue on our best journeys.

Potluck snacks in a beautiful setting!

Because if you're willing - I'll be right there with you pouring the coffee!

MAY 9th, 2020 - HJC Sessional: Body Language - what are you really saying?

Welcome to an HJC pilot sessional exploring your use of body language and the effectiveness therein.

Body language is increasingly emerging as a key "soft skill" in professional arenas. It's been determined that our use of personal space, physical gestures, posture, facial expressions, and eye contact can enhance, support, weaken, or even sabotage impact. But what exactly are we saying and why would learning about horsemanship help?
